Responding to the recent Waqf Amendment Act 2025, the West Bengal Chief Minister said that there will be no “divide and rule” under her watch. Defending the Central Government’s momentous decision, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai responded by saying that laws passed by the Indian parliament are applicable to the entire country. Emphasising the same, he said “every state has to follow it”.

As per Mamata Banerjee, CM of West Bengal, the Muslim community is “pained” after the Waqt Bill was passed. Addressing them she urged them not to be diverted, given the political provocation and the ongoing Murshidabad protests that are truning violent by the hour.

“I want to tell the people from the minority community that I know that you are pained by the Waqf Amendment Act but have faith that there will be no divide and rule in Bengal. You should give the message of live and let live,” Mamata Banerjee said while speaking at the “Navkar Mahamantra Divas” program.

In her speech he mentioned that some people are attempting to defame Bengal saying that her aim is to unite not divide regarding the protection of the diverse communities. Giving “credit to the minorities in Bengal” for celebrating all festivals alike, she said, “I am proud to say this is Bengal”.

Addressing the claims of unity and division made by Banerjee, Sai defended the Waqf amendment act swiftly as a feat of the Modi government.

On the eve of the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Chhattisgarh CM also extended his greeting and took part in the “Jai Bhim Padayatra”. Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Unemployment, Mansukj Mandaviya was also present at the event in Patna on April 13.
