United States Vice President JD Vance arrived in India on Monday morning, marking his first official visit to the country since assuming office in January this year. Accompanied by his wife Usha and their three children Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel, Vance’s four-day visit, from April 21 to April 24, is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two counties.

Vance’s aircraft touched down at Delhi’s Palam Air Force Station around 9:30 am IST. He will be formally received at 10:00 am. The US Vice President and his family will begin their Indian sojourn with visits to key cultural landmarks in Delhi, including the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple and a popular shopping complex showcasing traditional Indian handicrafts.

Vance is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 6:30 pm at PM Narendra Modi’s official residence. A high-level dinner hosted by Modi will follow.

Post the Delhi leg of the visit, Vance and his family will fly to Jaipur late Monday night, where they will be welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Governor Haribhau Bagade at the Jaipur airport. The family is set to stay at the historic Rambagh Palace.

A look at his full itinerary of four-day trip in India

April 21, Monday: US Vice President JD Vance lands in Delhi. He will be formally received at 10:00 am and checked in at the ITC Maurya Sheraton Hotel. Later in the day, Vance and his family will visit the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple and a local shopping complex known for its wide selection of traditional Indian handicrafts.

At 6:30 pm, Vance is scheduled to meet PM Modi at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. The meeting will be followed by a formal dinner.

Late Monday night, the Vice President and his family will travel to Jaipur. Upon arrival at around 9:30 pm, they will be welcomed by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the Governor. The family will stay at the Rambagh Palace

April 22, Tuesday: The day’s itinerary in Jaipur includes visits to Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, City Palace and Hawa Mahal. Vance will deliver a speech at the Rajasthan International Centre, followed by meetings with state political and business leaders. He is also set to meet Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and the Governor in the evening.

April 23, Wednesday: The Vice President and his family will visit Agra, where they will tour the iconic Taj Mahal and Shilpgram, a cultural market that showcases Indian arts and crafts.

April 24, Thursday: Vance will conclude his four-day visit and depart from India at 6:40 am.
