A massive earthquake of 6.2 magnitude on the Richter Scale hit Nepal at around 2.55 pm on Tuesday. Its tremors were felt across north India, including Delhi-NCR.
The origin of the earthquake was in Nepal at a depth of five kilometres, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.2, Occurred on 03-10-2023, 14:51:04 IST, Lat: 29.39 & Long: 81.23, Depth: 5 Km ,Location: Nepal,” the NCS said in a post on X.
The earthquake was felt in Delhi and other parts of the National Capital Region (NCR). Furthermore, there are reports that tremors were also felt in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
At around 2.25 pm on Tuesday, another earthquake of magnitude 4.6 had hit Nepal.
