Shivpuri constituency Election Result 2023: The stage is set and the counting of votes is underway to decide the fate of candidates in fray from the Shivpuri Assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh. BJP’s Devendra Kumar Jain wins by a margin of 43030. He has defeated Congress’ KP Singh.
The seat, a stronghold of Yashodhra Raje until she decided not to contest the elections, went to polls on November 17. The contest primarily lies between the traditional rivals of the state, Congress and BJP.
This seat holds significance as the incumbent and two-time undefeated MLA Yashodhara Raje Scindia opted out of the race citing medical reasons, leading to speculation about Jyotiraditya Scindia possibly replacing her. However, BJP has fielded Devendra Kumar Jain as her replacement, while Congress nominated KP Singh from the seat. Singh is a five-time MLA from the Pichhore Assembly seat.Shivpuri is a Madhya Pradesh Assembly/Vidhan Sabha seat within the Guna Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Situated in the Shivpuri district in the Chambal area, it is classified as a semi-urban seat.

In the 2018 elections, Yashodhara Raje Scindia clinched the seat with a narrow margin of 28,748 votes retaining power for the second time. Raje obtained 84,570 votes (51.5%), while her contender Siddharth Ladha received 55,822 votes (34%). During the 2013 assembly elections, Yashodhara Raje Scindia secured 76,330 votes (50.14%), while her opponent, Birender Raghuwanshi, garnered 65,185 votes (42.82%), falling short by 11,145 votes.
