Sandesh Assembly constituency is a part of the ongoing Bihar assembly elections, a key contest in the Bhojpur district. The general category seat falls under the Arrah Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency.
As per the latest ECI Data, Radha Charan Sah of the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) has won the Sandesh assembly seat with a narrow margin of 27 votes. The winning candidate recorded a total of 80598 votes.
Radha Charan Sah’s victory today had been closely contested by Rashtriya Janata Dal’s Dipu Singh who won 80571 votes today. Polling for Sandesh occurred in Phase 1 on November 6, 2025, and recorded a voter turnout of 61.76%.
One of the wealthier candidates within his party, Radha Charan Sah had declared assets worth over ₹34 crore, including both movable and immovable property before the elections.
Radha Charan previously served as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) before contesting the assembly elections. According to his election affidavit filed with the Election Commission, he has 12 pending criminal cases against him. He has also been subject to investigations and raids by central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax Department on charges of tax evasion.
The seat has been a fluctuating battleground between the RJD and the NDA, with the RJD holding it in the last two assembly elections. The local dynamics are heavily influenced by caste considerations, with the RJD generally presenting a strong base.
The constituency has a diverse population that includes Yadav and Rajput communities, among others, whose voting patterns are critical to the election results.
