Rajasthan Assembly Election Results 2023 Live News (December 3): BJP is consolidating its lead, as per the Election Commission of India numbers. While the early trends show saffron party crossing the halfway mark early trends, the official numbers as per the Election Commission of India also show its advantage BJP. The BJP is maintaining a healthy lead on 104 seats in Rajasthan, as per the trends. According to ECI, the BJP is leading on 86 seats. While Ashok Gehlot is leading from Sardarpura, Sachin Pilot is trailing from Tonk. The Congress is distant second when it comes to overall tally. The Grand Old Party is leading on nearly 60 seats, as per the ECI.
The counting of votes began across 36 designated centres in Rajasthan at 8 am today. The Assembly Elections in five states, which is being termed as the ‘semi-final’ to the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, commenced on November 7, 2023 and concluded on November 30, 2023. Rajasthan went to polls on November 25 last month.
The assembly elections were held in a single phase across 199 seats out of the 200 seats. The Election Commission of India had to postpone the poll in one constituency due to the death of a Congress candidate in Karanpur (Sriganganagar district).
Will Ashok Gehlot come back in power again? The ‘rivaaj’ is at stake in Rajasthan. A big question lingers over Ashok Gehlot beating anti-incumbency and remaining in power. Gehlot has been elected in power thrice earlier non-consecutively and if he is elected in the 2023 assembly elections, he will buck the trend and will be in power for the fourth time.
Ashok Gehlot enjoys immense people connect and he is confident that he will be elected again with huge numbers.
However, BJP has campaigned relying on PM Narendra Modi’s magic who led the party’s campaign with two mega roadshows. He also covered around 104 seats with 14 public rallies.

The chief ministerial candidate of BJP will also be unveiled in this result. It is an interesting turn as the public will witness BJP solving the Vasundhara Raje puzzle whose name was stopped short as the chief ministerial candidate of Rajasthan.
Rajasthan has always voted the anti-incumbent candidate to power which has mostly been either from Congress or from BJP since 1998. Rajasthan witnessed a robust voter turnout of 75 per cent in the 2023 assembly elections. The polling mostly remained peaceful however some incidents of violence were reported in Deeg and Sikar’s Fatehpur.
As per the Election Commission of India's official website, results of 197 constituencies have been declared. As of now, results of only two seats - Dungargarh and Udaipurwati - remain.
Several ministers from the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan, including Disaster Management Minister Govind Ram Meghwal, faced defeat in the assembly elections. Govind Meghwal, who also served as the Congress' campaign committee chief, was unsuccessful in Khajuwala against BJP's Vishwanath Meghwal.
Other Congress ministers who experienced electoral losses include Bhanwar Singh Bhati from Kolayat, Shakuntala Rawat from Bansur, Vishvendra Singh from Deeg Kumher, Ramesh Chand Meena from Sapotara, Shale Mohammad from Pokaran, and Udailal Anjana from Nimbahera.
Furthermore, some ministers, such as BD Kalla from Bikaner West, Zahida Khan from Kaman, Bhajan Lal Jatav from Weir, Mamta Bhupesh from Sikrai, Parsadi Lal Meena from Lalsot, Sukhram Vishnoi from Sanchore, Ramlal Jat from Mandal, and Pramod Jain Bhaya from Anta, are currently trailing in the elections.
In his first reaction on the Assembly Election results, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that his party has humbly accepted the people's verdict in Rajasthan.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot, who initially lagged behind in Tonk, has emerged victorious in this crucial seat. According to the latest updates from the Election Commission of India, Pilot secured a win in Tonk with a margin of 29,475 votes.
Regarding his lead in the Tijara seat, BJP Candidate Yogi Balaknath states, "The credit for winning this seat goes to our dedicated party workers and the people of Tijara. They have bestowed upon me the privilege of serving them. All decisions are made under the guidance of PM Modi..."

Chandrabhan Aakya, an independent candidate who made room for a relative of the late former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, clinched victory in Chittorgarh. Aakya, the incumbent MLA from Chittorgarh, secured the seat by defeating his closest rivals—Surendra Singh from the Congress and Narpat Singh Rajvi from the BJP.
Prior to the polls, the BJP had substituted Aakya with Narpat Singh Rajvi, the son-in-law of the late former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, relocating him from Jaipur's Vidhyadhar Nagar constituency to Chittorgarh.
In his election campaign, Baba Balak Nath likened the Tijara Assembly Election to an intense India vs Pakistan cricket match. Emphasizing a commitment similar to players striving for every run, he asserted that the BJP would tirelessly work for each vote.
