PM Modi Swearing-In Ceremony Date and Time: Narendra Modi will take the oath as Prime Minister for the third time today, June 9, the Rashtrapati Bhavan confirmed on Friday. The ceremony will also see the swearing-in of his council of ministers. Earlier, Modi met President Droupadi Murmu and staked his claim to form the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under his leadership.
BJP chief JP Nadda presented a letter to President Murmu confirming Modi’s election as the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party. NDA leaders also submitted their letters of support. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Janata Dal (United) endorsed Modi as the leader of the coalition.
The NDA holds a comfortable position with 293 MPs in the 543-member Lok Sabha, with the BJP being the largest party, holding 240 seats.
Date and Time for the Oath-Taking Ceremony
The Rashtrapati Bhavan announced that the ceremony will take place today evening, at around 07.15 PM. Over 8,000 dignitaries, including foreign leaders, are expected to attend the event.
Highlighting the event’s significance, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated, “The visit of leaders to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his third consecutive term is in keeping with the highest priority accorded by India to its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and ‘SAGAR’ vision.”
