Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced additional financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 2 lakh for residents whose houses were damaged due to Pakistan shelling following Operation Sindoor. The move aims to provide immediate relief and help affected families rebuild their lives in the border areas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned Pakistan for its continued opposition to peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, he said,

“Our neighbouring country opposes peace, tourism, and even the livelihood of the poor. What happened in Pahalgam is a clear example.”

PM Modi emphasised that the attack was not just an assault on innocent lives but also a direct strike on the spirit of Kashmiriyat and humanity. He reiterated India’s resolve to stand strong against terrorism and continue its path of progress in the region.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the long-standing dream of lakhs in Jammu and Kashmir has finally been fulfilled.

“All the good work is left for me to complete,” he remarked, underscoring the government’s commitment to development. He credited his administration for reviving and completing the ambitious railway project. “It is our good fortune that this project gained momentum during our tenure,” he said.

Calling it a challenging task, Modi added, “Our government always chooses to challenge the challenge.” He highlighted the all-weather infrastructure being built in J&K as a symbol of resilience and long-term national integration.

“Today’s programme is a huge celebration of India’s unity and willpower,” he said, adding that with the blessings of Mata Vaishnodevi, Kashmir is now connected to the rest of India through the railway network.

Invoking the phrase “Kashmir to Kanyakumari,” often used to symbolise India's unity, Modi said it is no longer just a slogan but a reality on the ground.

He emphasised that this achievement reflects the nation's strength, vision, and dedication to inclusive development.

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for turning the idea of "Kashmir to Kanyakumari" into reality.

Speaking at the flag-off of the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat train, Sinha said the move symbolises national unity and fulfills the dreams of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

“The bridge inaugurated today is more than cement and steel—it’s a lifeline that connects the aspirations of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India,” he said.

Sinha praised PM Modi for bringing people closer and transforming a slogan into a powerful symbol of national integration.

Jammu and Kashmir’s former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah highlighted the rapid pace of infrastructure development in the region, crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the progress.

“Projects like the Jammu and Srinagar Ring Roads, Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, four-lane Jammu-Srinagar highway, airport expansions, and the railway network are moving swiftly,” he said. Omar noted that these projects reflect a broader vision of “Viksit Jammu and Kashmir for a Viksit Bharat.”

Expressing heartfelt gratitude, he added, “On behalf of the people of J&K, I thank you, Prime Minister, for your commitment to the region’s growth and development.”

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, reflecting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, said, “Exactly 11 years ago, PM Modi came here for the inauguration of Katra Railway Station. I had said then that no one comes to Katra unless called by Mata Vaishno Devi.”

Singh noted that PM Modi’s visit was repeatedly delayed due to changing governments and elections.

“It seems Mata wanted him to become PM again to fulfill the historic task of connecting Kashmir Valley to the rail network,” he added, calling the moment a spiritual and developmental milestone for the region.
