At least one person died in a major fire that broke out at an under-construction banquet hall in Sector 74 of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, at around 3 am on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Parminder and was an electrician, ANI reported. The blaze was taken into control after 15 fire tenders reached the spot.
Noida DCP Ram Badan Singh said, “At around 3.30 am, we got information that a fire broke out at Lotus Grandeur banquet hall in Noida Sector 74. A total of 15 fire tenders reached the spot. Fire has been brought under control. One electrician, Parminder lost his life in the fire.”
The banquet hall was reduced to ashes. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
