Madhya Pradesh Assembly Election Latest News: Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath called out BJP for losing hopes for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections that are going to take place soon by the end of 2023. The reaction came as the Bharatiya Janata Party released its second list of 39 candidates for Madhya Pradesh 2023 election on Monday night.

On Tuesday, Kamal Nath took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam BJP’s second list. In a post, he said, “The candidates’ list of the BJP, which claims to have crores of party workers, is surely a stamp on the party’s internal defeat and refutes the claims of development during the eighteen-and-a-half years of BJP government and more than 15 years of Shivraj’s (Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan) rule.”

The second list consists of three Union ministers – Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister of State (MoS) for Food Processing Industries Prahlad Singh Patel, and Minister of State for Rural Development and Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste. The party also mentioned four Lok Sabha members on the list: Rakesh Singh, Riti Pathak, Ganesh Singh and Udaypratap Singh.

Kamal Nath claimed that BJP is playing its last bits for MP elections and the party has accepted “internal defeat” for the upcoming elections. The Election Commission is yet to announce official dates for voting in 5 states, including Madhya Pradesh. At present, Madhya Pradesh is governed by Shivraj Singh Chauhan of BJP but initially the seat was secured by Congress leader Kamal Nath. The party collapsed within 15 months due to MLAs switching sides along with Jyotiraditya Scindia. In the aftermath, the Bharatiya Janata Party held 126 MLAs in the 230-member House, while the Congress has 96 legislators.

In the same tweet, Kamal Nath also commented on the hollow claims of Madhya Pradesh’s development and claimed it to be a “white lie”. The BJP announced its first list of candidates in August and so far, BJP has declared candidates for 78 out of the total 230 seats in MP.
