Sahil Shukla, the boyfriend of Muskan Rastogi, who was involved in the murder of her husband in Meerut, was beaten up by lawyers within the court premises on Wednesday afternoon. A video of the incident has gone viral, showing Sahil being assaulted while police intervened to protect him.
The victim, Saurabh Rajput (29) from Brahmpuri’s Indra Nagar Phase 2, was reported missing on March 4. An investigation was initiated based on the information, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ayush Vikram Singh. His dismembered body was found sealed in a drum filled with cement, according to police reports.
The remains were recovered, and both suspects, Muskan (27) and her lover Sahil (25), were arrested. The crime took place in the Indira Nagar area, police confirmed on Tuesday.
Based on suspicion, police detained Muskan and Sahil, and during interrogation, they confessed to having stabbed Rajput to death on March 4. After the murder, they dismembered his body, placed it in a drum, and sealed it with cement. Both have been arrested, ASP Singh added.
The remains have been sent for post-mortem, and a case has been registered based on a complaint from Rajput’s family.
Rajput’s family alleged that Muskan tried to mislead them by sending messages from his phone after the murder. Following the crime, Muskan and Sahil reportedly went on a vacation to a hill station, the ASP stated.
Police revealed that Rajput and Muskan, both from Gauripura, had a love marriage in 2016. Their families were opposed to the relationship, and the couple had been living separately in a rented house in Indira Nagar Phase 1 with their three-year-old daughter.
