The initial public offer (IPO) of Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals was fully subscribed on the first day of its subscription on Tuesday. The Rs 1,875-crore IPO received an enthusiastic response, with bids for 2,07,92,684 shares against the 1,51,62,239 shares on offer, achieving a subscription rate of 1.37 times, according to NSE data.

Kerala has requested a special financial package of Rs 24,000 crore from the Centre, according to a written reply by Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. The Finance Minister of Kerala sent a letter dated June 27, 2024, detailing this request, PTI reported.

The cost of Bengaluru Metro’s Phase-2 network has soared to nearly Rs 40,000 crore, marking a 52% increase from the original estimate proposed in 2014. Initially approved for a 72 km stretch at Rs 26,405 crore, the project was scheduled for completion by 2019. An additional 3 km was later added, and by 2021, the cost was revised to Rs 30,695 crore.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has recently submitted a revised cost proposal to the State Finance Department through the Urban Development Department (UDD) for approval. This marks the second revision of the project’s cost. In 2022, the cost of Phase II of the Namma Metro project increased by Rs 4,290 crore.

China has completed a 400-meter bridge near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh. Recent satellite images from July 22, exclusive to NDTV, show the bridge is now black-topped and being used by light motor vehicles.
Located in territory held by China since 1958, the bridge is strategically positioned near the LAC between India and China in Ladakh. It enables the swift movement of Chinese troops between the North and South banks of Pangong Lake.

Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals opened its IPO to investors on July 30, aiming to raise a total of Rs 1,856.74 crore. The subscription period will close on August 1.
The company plans to raise Rs 1,856.74 crore through a combination of a fresh issue and an offer for sale. It will generate Rs 680 crore by issuing 10 million new shares, while the promoters and other selling shareholders will raise Rs 1,176.74 crore by selling 1.73 crore shares.
At least nineteen bodies were recovered, and hundreds of people are suspected to be trapped after massive landslides struck various hilly areas near Meppadi in Kerala’s Wayanad district in the early hours of Tuesday.

Several coaches of the Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed in Jharkhand's Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Tuesday. According to West Singhbhum DC, the incident, which occurred at 3:45 am near Badabamboo—80 km from Jamshedpur in the Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway—resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to 20 passengers.
