Jhunjunu Assembly Election Results 2023 LIVE Updates: INC candidate Brijendra Singh Ola secured his fourth MLA term after defeating BJP’s Nisheet Kumar by over 28,000 votes in Sunday election results. He garnered 86,798 votes.
Jhunjhunu, a city in Rajasthan, is an Assembly constituency that falls under the district by the same name. Among the 200 Assembly constituencies in the state, Jhunjhunu has sent the highest number of soldiers to the Indian army and paramilitary forces. Polls were held in Rajasthan on November 25 across all 200 constituencies with a voter turnout of 74.62 per cent in Jhunjhunu constituency.
The BJP secured a comfortable majority, winning 115 seats out of the 199 Rajasthan Assembly constituencies.
Brijendra Singh Ola from the Congress party has been representing the constituency. Ola is a three-term MLA from Jhunjhunu. He won from the seat in 2008, 2013, and 2018 and now eyes a fourth straight term on a Congress ticket. BJP, on the other hand, has named Nishit Kumar who is popularly known as Bablu Choudhary as its candidate from the seat.
In the past 15 assembly polls, BJP has won this constituency only twice – in 1996 (byelection) and 2003 and it has never repeated candidates on the Jhunjhunu seat.
In the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government, Brijendra Singh was serving as a Minister of Transport & Road Safety.
The closest rivalries in the constituency during the 2018 assembly elections was between Congress’s Brijendra Singh and BJP’s Rajendra Singh Bhamboo.
During last polls, Brijendra Singh from Congress defeated BJP’s Bhamboo by a huge margin of 40,565 votes.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is moving closer to securing victory in Rajasthan, as indicated by the party's lead towards the majority mark in the state, according to the latest trends reported by the Election Commission of India.
District Election Officer Himanshu Gupta stated, "The strong rooms have been unlocked. Postal ballots have arrived at the Vidhan Sabha constituencies and are being unsealed in the presence of candidates and their representatives. The situation remains peaceful across all areas thus far. All political representatives are present in their designated constituencies."
