The month of December is nearing its end and with that one leg of the winter season will wrap up. As the mercury levels drop in several parts of the country, the temperature in northern India continues to compel people to wrap warmer clothes.

In its latest weather report, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted dense fog in certain states with cold wave conditions.

Dense fog in Punjab, Haryana

The agency has said that dense fog in isolated pockets is expected in Punjab and Haryana over the next few days. Northwest Uttar Pradesh will also be experiencing the same over three days. The prediction said Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will also experience dense fog today.

It also said that cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Punjab today.

Temperature in New Delhi

As per the predictions by the RWFC New Delhi, the maximum temperature in New Delhi today will be 23 degree Celsius, while the minimum the city could hit is 7 degree Celsius. At the time of writing this report, New Delhi’s temperature was hovering around 8 degree Celsius, while the people in Mumbai are enjoying 23 degree Celsius.

The RWFC said that New Delhi will be having partly cloudy skies today. 

Over the next few days, New Delhi’s minimum temperature is expected to be in the range of 7-9 degree Celsius.

The IMD has said no “significant change” in minimum temperatures is expected over most parts of the country during the next 4-5 days.
