After being hit by a dust storm last night, the residents of Delhi are likely to witness another dust storm with partly cloudy sky, along with light showers today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 43 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius respectively.
The weather agency’s latest bulletin reports that isolated to scattered very light to light rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) is expected over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan on June 6 and 7, 2024. A dust storm is likely over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh on June 6 and Rajasthan from June 6 to 7. An isolated hailstorm is anticipated in West Rajasthan on June 7th.

Tomorrow, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, Delhi is predicted to experience a minimum temperature of 33.13°C and a maximum temperature of 43.3°C. Humidity levels are expected to be at 15%.
‘Weather change due to western disturbance’
Similar cloudy weather is predicted for June 8. On June 9, the sky will be clear with gusty winds. From June 10 to 12, the national capital will experience partly cloudy skies with strong surface winds.
The meteorological department said the city is experiencing a “weather change due to the influence of new western disturbance.”
A powerful dust storm swept through various parts of Delhi-NCR. The maximum temperature went down from 44 degrees Celsius to 41.2 degrees Celsius providing residents some relief from the severe heat.
According to the IMD bulletin, the minimum temperature settled at 24.6 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal, while the relative humidity fluctuated between 39% and 57%.
Safdarjung, the city’s primary weather station, recorded a high of 41.2 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, other weather stations in Delhi, such as Najafgarh and Narela, observed maximum temperatures of 44.4 degrees Celsius and 42.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
