Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) registered a historic third consecutive victory in the Haryana Assembly elections.
The BJP on Tuesday won 48 out of the 90 Assembly seats in the state.
Sources in the Haryana BJP said that important issues, including the date and venue for the swearing-in ceremony of the new government, had to be discussed, Indian Express reported.

After his meeting with Saini, PM Modi took to X to share pictures of their meet and said, “I met Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini ji and congratulated and wished him for the historic victory of BJP in the assembly elections. I am confident that Haryana’s role is going to become more important in the resolution of developed India.”
The BJP leadership will also take a call on the number of ministers who can be inducted into the state cabinet. Haryana can have 14 ministers, including the chief minister.
Calling his meeting with the PM as a courtesy call, Nayab Singh Saini said, “I have told Pradhan Mantri ji about the landslide victory of BJP in Haryana. I told him that the people of Haryana have a lot of affection for you which resulted in the formation of the double-engine government in Haryana for the third time.”
When asked about the oath ceremony, Saini said, “I don’t know about it. Our parliamentary board will decide this. The parliamentary board’s decision will be acceptable to all. The legislative group of the party will elect its leader.”
