In a hearing on Monday, the apex court told the government to look into the permanent commissioning of women in the Indian Coast Guard. According to the Bar & Bench, CJI DY Chandrachud said that women can't be left out. In 2024, the norms don't 'hold water'. "If you do not do it, we will do it. So take a look at that," the Chief Justice said. The remark came while hearing the case of an Indian Coast Guard woman officer, who is seeking permanent commission to eligible women short-service commission officers of the force.

A 25-year-old rape survivor was seriously injured when she was shot at and attacked with a sharp-edged weapon by a man accused of raping her and his accomplices in Kotputli-Behror district of Rajasthan, police said on Monday. The woman's brother was also injured in the attack and the two are undergoing treatment at jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund Mubadala Investment Company has struck a $1 billion deal with Goldman Sachs to go after private credit deals in Asia, the companies said on Monday. Mubadala and the US bank agreed on a partnership to co-invest in private credit opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, with a particular focus on India, the companies said in a statement. The Partnership will be managed by Private Credit at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, with a dedicated on-the-ground team across multiple Asia Pacific markets, Mubadala and Goldman said. (Reuters)

The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a statement regarding Indians seeking discharge from the Russian Army. Calling the reports 'inaccurate', the MEA said that each case has been dealt with and several Indian nationals have 'already been discharged'. "We have seen some inaccurate reports in the media regarding Indians with the Russian army seeking help for discharge. Each and every such case brought to the attention of the Indian Embassy in Moscow has been strongly taken up with the Russian authorities, and those brought to the attention of the Ministry have been taken up with the Russian Embassy in New Delhi. Several Indians have already been discharged as a result."
