The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its sixth list of candidates for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, unveiling 10 more names on Sunday. RS Pathania will represent Udhampur East, and Naseer Ahmad Lone has been fielded for the Bandipora constituency.
The three-phase elections for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir assembly are scheduled to take place on September 18, September 25, and October 1, with results expected on October 4.
In this latest list, Faqir Mohammad Khan is set to contest from the Gurez Scheduled Tribe (ST) reserved seat, while Abdul Rasheed Khan will stand from Sonawari, and Ghulam Mohammad Mir from Handwara.
For the Scheduled Caste (SC) reserved constituencies, Bharat Bhushan will run from Kathua, Rajeev Bhagat from Bishnah, and Surinder Bhagat from Marh. The BJP has also chosen Vikram Randhawa to contest the Bahu assembly seat.
With this announcement, the BJP is gearing up for what is expected to be a closely watched election in the Union Territory.
