The Assembly elections in the five states – Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana – will be held between November 7 to November 30, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Monday.
According to the schedule, all states will have single-phase voting except Chhattisgarh where elections will be held in two phases.
Here is the schedule for each state:
- Mizoram:
Mizoram will have the election in a single phase
Polling date: November 7, 2023
Result date: December 3, 2023

Chhattisgarh will have elections in two phases
First phase polling date: November 7, 2023
Second phase polling date: November 17, 2023

- Madhya Pradesh:
Madhya Pradesh will have a single-phase election

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar said that the elections will see 60.2 lakh first-time voters. There will be 8.2 crore male and 7.8 crore female voters this time. There will be 1.77 lakh polling stations across five states.
Additionally, webcasting facilities will be available at 1.01 lakh booths to enhance transparency in monitoring the polling process.
He also stated that the Commission was committed to making electoral rolls inclusive and ensuring a high turnout. He emphasised that their focus would be on roll-to-poll conversion, ensuring that eligible voters are able to exercise their democratic rights.
