The general category seat falls under the Arrah Lok Sabha (Parliamentary) constituency within the Seemanchal region.

As per the latest update on the website of Election Commission of India (ECI), Indian National’s Congress’ Abidur Rahman maintains a comfortable lead in what was expected to be a tight three way contest.

The Araria constituency has a diverse demographic profile, which makes it a crucial seat in the Seemanchal region. The region is known for a large chunk of Muslim voters (approximately 32% in the district), who significantly influence election outcomes. The constituency also has a mix of other communities.

The current Member of Parliament (MP) for the Araria Lok Sabha constituency is Pradeep Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who won the seat in the 2024 general election.

The Araria Assembly seat has seen shifts in political representation over time, with different parties and candidates holding the seat. This demonstrates that it has not been consistently dominated by a single political party.

The Araria district recorded a high overall voter turnout of approximately 70.71% in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. This figure represents a robust participation from the electorate, reflecting significant civic engagement.
