Anant Singh Bihar Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2025 Vote Counting LIVE: Anant Kumar Singh, popularly known as Chhote Sarkar, is one of Bihar’s most talked-about and controversial politicians. Known for his trademark white attire, dark sunglasses and flamboyant style, Singh commands a cult-like following in Mokama and beyond. Over the past two decades, he has built an image that blends power. Despite facing multiple criminal cases and even serving jail time, Anant Singh’s political grip over Mokama remains largely unshaken, making him one of the most enduring figures in Bihar’s local politics.
One of the key constituencies in Bihar is Mokama, located in Patna district. This seat has long been dominated by Anant Singh. Singh is a popular and colourful figure on social media, where his casual remarks often go viral as reels and memes.
People say he doesn’t need a party symbol – he himself is the symbol. Whether he contests from Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal, or as an Independent, his win usually seems certain; only the party and slogans change.
In 2005 and 2010, Anant Singh won the seat as a JDU or JDU candidate. In 2015, he contested as an independent and won again. Later, in 2020, he joined the RJD and retained the seat once more. However, in 2022, Singh was disqualified from the Bihar Assembly after being convicted in a criminal case. Following this, his wife Neelam Devi contested the by-election from Mokama and won. Now, Singh has returned to JDU and will once again contest from the same seat.
This time in assembly election, the RJD has fielded former MP Veena Devi to challenge him, while Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party has nominated Priyadarshi Piyush, making it a three-way contest in Mokama.
