Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the ‘Parivartan Rally’ at Japanese Park in Rohini, made a strong appeal to Delhi voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. Modi emphasised the need for a transformative approach to turn Delhi into a “capital of Viksit Bharat,” while criticising the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s governance over the past decade.

PM Modi urged Delhiites to place their trust in the BJP, asserting that only his party could fulfill the city’s developmental aspirations. “The government that Delhi has seen in the last 10 years is no less than an ‘AAP-DA’ (disaster). The city now echoes with a single voice: ‘AAP-DA nahi sahenge, badal ke rahenge (We won’t tolerate the disaster, we’ll bring change),” he remarked.

Modi underlined the BJP’s focus on good governance and service-driven leadership. He pointed to the party’s success across states like Haryana and Odisha, where people continued to support BJP-led governments. “Once people place their trust in the BJP, they continue to support it because we believe in fulfilling dreams and ensuring the welfare of every citizen,” he said.

Major Development Initiatives for Delhi

The Prime Minister highlighted the Centre’s recent projects for Delhi, worth thousands of crores, including highways, metro network expansions, and the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). These initiatives, he claimed, are crucial for Delhi’s transformation into a city of the future.

He criticized the AAP government for failing to address basic issues like potholes, traffic jams, and overflowing sewers, which continue to plague Delhi despite the development work initiated by the Centre.

Assuring Delhi residents that no public welfare schemes would be discontinued under BJP rule, Modi promised to root out corruption in their implementation. “The double-engine of development will come only when the ‘aapda’ (disaster) is removed from Delhi,” he asserted.

Modi emphasised that the next 25 years are crucial for India’s growth, and Delhi’s contribution to the mission of ‘Viksit Bharat’ is indispensable. “These years will see India become the world’s third-largest economic power, and Delhi must play a pivotal role in this transformation,” he said.

In a symbolic gesture of progress, PM Modi also interacted with school children while riding the Namo Bharat train, inaugurated as part of the RRTS project. The high-speed train aims to enhance mobility and connectivity in the National Capital Region.

A Decade of Missed Opportunities

Modi criticised the AAP government for wasting a decade in confrontations with the Centre. “In the past 10 years, Delhi has witnessed a state government that has been no less than a disaster. Delhiites have realized this and are calling for change,” he said.

As Delhi prepares for the 2025 elections, PM Modi’s rally set the stage for a campaign focused on transformation, accountability, and a brighter future under BJP’s leadership. The Prime Minister’s appeal emphasised that the city’s aspirations for development and progress could only be achieved through a BJP-led government.
