Sultan has been leaked online and this may well be another setback for superstar Salman Khan after Eid date was shifted from July 6 to July 7 – movie will release on Thursday.

While this may not affect the initial take, what is disturbing is that, if true, subsequent Sultan collections may well be affected. The last movie to hit the headlines for being leaked online, yet another controversial movie was Shahid Kapoor starrer Udta Punjab. This movie actually leaked and the actors concerned as well as the director made impassioned pleas to the public not to watch the pirated movie. After that, Great Grand Masti too faced a similar fate, presumably.

Whether Sultan leaked online a day before its release date is still a subject of conjecture. The uncertainty stems from the fact that the filmmakers have said that these reports are not true. Some have hurried to explain there is some misunderstanding about an altered Sultan trailer that has been structured in a manner to give rise to false surmises. Perhaps, that was the intention, and to grab some publicity.

Sultan filmmakers Yash Raj Films have said that there is no truth in the online leak story. However, the rumour-mills are all agog about the ‘news’, false or not.

According to reports, the mysterious, so-called, dark web is where Sultan leaked online and that it would soon find its way to Torrent too – very soon, in fact.

Needless to say, the filmmakers have deployed their ‘forces to nip this rumour in the bud and at the other end, find out if Sultan has leaked and if so catch the culprits as soon as possible and plug the leak before Sultan bleeds away all its money to pirates.

If there is any veracity in the news, be prepared for Salman Khan going public in his irreverant manner to tick off the pirates and gruffly tell people to watch the film in theaters.
