Haryana Lok Sabha Result- Full List of Winners: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress are in a direct contest for the ten parliamentary constituencies in Haryana. In all, seven parties are in the fray — BJP, Congress, Indian National Lok Dal, Loktantra Suraksha Party, Bahujan Samajwadi Party, Aam Admi Party, and Jannayak Janata Party. AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal wanted to forge an alliance with the Congress in the state but the talks fell apart after Rahul Gandhi’s refusal to ally with Delhi’s ruling party. In 2014, the saffron party had won seven seats with 34.7 per cent vote share. Om Prakash Chautala-led INLD won two seats with 24.4 per cent vote share and Congress could win just one seat with close to 23 per cent vote share.

Haryana Lok Sabha election: Key candidates

Among the key contests are Rattan Lal Kataria vs Selja Kumari in Ambala, Ramesh Chander Kaushik vs Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Sonipat, Arvind Kumar Sharma vs Deepender Singh Hooda in Rohtak, Rao Inderjit Singh vs Ajay Singh Yadav in Gurgaon and Krishan Pal Gurjar vs Avtar Singh Bhadana in Faridabad. Polling was held in the sixth phase on May 12 and results will be declared on May 23. This list will be updated following the declaration of results.

Presently, the state is being ruled by the BJP. In a 90-member assembly, the saffron party had won 47 seats with 33 per cent vote share. Om Prakash Chautala’s INLD won 19 and the Congress won 15 seats. As per 2011 Census, Hindus constitute the majority with 87.46 per cent population and Muslims are over 7 per cent. Among the Hindus, Punjabis are 10.3 per cent, Brahmin 8.4 per cent, Bhaniya 6.6 per cent, Jat 27.8 per cent, Yadav/Ahir 4 per cent, Rajput 3.1 per cent, Gujjar 5.2 per cent, Dalits 21 per cent and others are 8.9 per cent.
