Good news for rail commuters! Indian Railways is adopting a new scheme for quality cleaning of indigenous-built Vande Bharat Express trains. The scheme is a part of the ongoing ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. It aims at fostering a much greener and more eco-friendly railway system.
Railway Minister to launch ’14-minutes miracle’
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will launch the 14-minute miracle initiative to clean the country’s first semi-high speed train – Vande Bharat Express on Sunday.
What is the ’14-minutes miracle’?
Under the scheme, the national transporter will clean the rakes of these semi-high speed trains at ‘other end terminal stations’ by a unique system – ’14-minute miracle’ scheme.
How would the ’14-minute miracle’ system work?
The exercise of ’14-minute miracle’ will start once the passengers deboard at the terminal station. The scheme will work based on the flow chart for smooth operation of the programme. The ’14 minute miracle’ cleaning activities will be properly documented for further analysis and feedback mechanism. The railways will further improve the system based on the feedback of the passengers.
How many Vande Bharat Express trains are in service?
Presently, a total of 34 semi-high speed trains are in operation. This new age train has enhanced the travel experience of passengers by connecting two cities in less time. The railways has planned to introduce more such trains in the coming days.
Central Railways cleans LTT-Kakinada express in 7 minutes:-
On September 28th, the Central Railway zone cleaned the entire train (17222 LTT-Kakinada express) in just seven minutes. The zonal railways has planned to implement this on other trains ona regular basis. This aims at reducing the time and lia-over period of mail express trains required for cleaning, so that turn-round time of trains can be reduced so as to increase the mobility and utilisation of trains.
