Indian Railways has commenced Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist train for ‘Diwali Ganga Snana Yathirai’ tour package. The eight nights and nine days journey started on November 9, 2023 and will be concluded on Friday (November 17). The tour is covering the prominent religious and tourist destinations of the country.
On its journey, the train has covered six states i.e. Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. However, the boarding and deboarding of passengers is available at a few selected stations. These are – Tenkasi, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai Junction, Dindigul, Trichy, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam,, Mayiladuthurai, Chidambaram, Tripadripuliyur, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Tambaram, Chennai Egmore, and Gudur railway station.

During the tour, the passengers have visited the following tourist places. These are –
- Prayagraj: Triveni Sangam
- Varanasi: Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Kasi Visalakshi Temple & Sarnath
- Gaya: Vishnu Path Temple
- Rameswaram: Ramanathaswamy Temple
Seats:-
A total of 760 passengers can be accommodated on this tourist train. The train has four AC coaches and seven Sleeper Class coaches. Of these, 280 seats are in AC Class compartments and 480 seats in Sleeper Class compartments.
Fare:-
The price of this rail tour package starts at Rs 16850 per passenger for Sleeper Class. The fare for AC Class is Rs 30,500 per passenger.

The launch of the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is in line with the Government of India’s initiatives “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” and “Dekho Apna Desh” to encourage domestic tourism. The national transporter is providing 33 percent (approximately) concession for promotion of rail tourism under Bharat Gaurav Train scheme.
