The India Young Professionals Scheme that allows Indians between 18 and 30 years old to live and work in the UK for up to 2 years is opening today. One can also purse short term study courses in Britain under the India Young Professionals Scheme.
The latest India Young Professionals Scheme ballot will open at 1:30pm India Standard Time on 22 July 2025, and close at 1:30pm India Standard Time on 24 July 2025.
There are 3,000 places available for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa in 2025. Most slots were made available in the February ballot. The remaining places are being made available in the second and final ballot in July that is happening from today.
To apply for India Young Professionals Scheme visa, you must be selected in the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot.
The ballot opens today on July 22 for young Indians looking to apply under the India Young Professionals Scheme.
To be eligible for the visa, you must be an Indian citizen, be between 18 and 30 years old, have an eligible qualification of bachelor’s degree level or above and have £2,530 in savings which is approximately Rs 3 lakh.
How to apply
If you’re eligible, enter the India Young Professionals Scheme ballot.
If you’re successful in the ballot, you’ll receive an invitation to apply for the visa.

Each ballot entry can only be submitted by one person per person, and any subsequent attempts will not be counted. If you are successful in the ballot, you will be invited to apply for a visa.
You have 90 days from the date of the email to apply online for the visa, pay the visa application fee and immigration health surcharge (£1,552) and provide your fingerprints and photo (biometric information).
You can enter the ballot if you are an Indian citizen and you are eligible for the India Young Professionals Scheme visa.
Check if you are eligible for the visa before entering the ballot. You will need to provide your passport details along with other basic information.
Successful ballot entries will be picked at random. You will be sent the results by email within 2 weeks of the ballot closing.
It is free to enter the ballot. You should only enter if you plan to apply for the visa, which costs £319 and meet all the eligibility requirements for the visa – such as having an eligible qualification and enough money to support yourself.
How long you can stay
You’ll be given a visa to live and work in the UK for up to 24 months.
You can enter the UK at any time while your visa is valid, and leave and come back at any time during your stay.
If you turn 31 after your visa is issued, you can stay in the UK for as long as your visa is valid.
