As anticipation builds for the spring intake of 2024, a growing number of Indian students are eagerly considering prominent study-abroad destinations. The allure of spring admissions lies in their unique benefits, including easier access to internships, higher acceptance rates, and favorable student-teacher ratios. This season brings forth a wealth of opportunities for students seeking a global education.
Some of the hottest study-abroad destinations
United States: The U.S. offers excellent education and job prospects. Favorable immigration laws grant STEM graduates a 24-month work permit post-graduation, encouraging STEM enrollment and assisting in managing student debt.
United Kingdom: In the UK, the Graduate Visa permits students to stay for two to three years after completing graduate studies, enhancing its appeal for Indian students.
Canada: Canada distinguishes itself with a post-graduation employment visa valid up to three years—a distinctive feature that not only provides substantial opportunities for international students but also promotes career growth following the completion of their studies.
Germany: In Germany, a welcoming atmosphere and a strong job market have driven a 25% increase in Indian student enrollment within a year. Moreover, a bilateral agreement fosters two-way mobility for professionals, researchers, and students between Germany and India.
Ireland: Ireland attracts Indian students with its excellent educational system, welcoming culture, and diverse employment options. The affordability of tuition costs and the allowance for international students to work up to 40 hours a week during vacations make it an attractive investment.
New Zealand: New Zealand, ranked #2 in the Global Peace Index, is a sought-after destination for Indian students. Its safety, welcoming policies, and top-ranking universities contribute to its popularity. The option for part-time work during vacations enhances its appeal, demonstrated by the 1,600 Indians who pursued courses there last year.
Australia: Australia has experienced a significant surge in its Indian student population, attributable to several factors including the pursuit of foreign degrees, migrant-friendly laws, the presence of world-class universities, and promising post-study career prospects.
