A viral post on social media has ignited intense debate around anti-immigrant sentiment, particularly targeted at Indian nationals living and working in Western countries. The post alleges a rise in hostility toward Indians, especially those on H-1B visas, claiming they are now “the most hated immigrants in the whole western world without even committing a single violent crime.”

One of the screenshots attached to the post recounts an encounter with two Indian startup founders in San Francisco, both of whom are accused of fraudulent practices. The first allegedly sublets a rented apartment and lists the income as business revenue. The second is said to have falsely claimed that Amazon and Google had signed Letters of Intent with his company, when in fact, the tech giants reportedly have no knowledge of any such agreement. Another screenshot explained a user’s apparent discomfort with the visibility of Indian workers across Europe.
The post lists locations, Dublin, Galway, London, Vienna, Mallorca, Fuerteventura, and Rome, each described as having supermarkets staffed by Indians. Perhaps the most provocative screenshot accuses South Asians, Indians, Pakistanis, and Bangladeshis, of dominating the low-skilled job market and “undercutting the entire market.” The user laments that it is now impossible for local students or non-Asians to walk into a café and ask for a trial job because these positions are already filled.
‘Most of the hate came from folks who are insecure about their job’
The internet quickly reacted to the post. A user said, ” Indian hate started right here in blind app. And most of the hate came from folks who are insecure about their job and were having hard time coping with the competition. It slowly creeped into other social media apps and is going mainstream.” Another added, “Indians work like slaves, Set wrong benchmarks and don’t have class .. They are loud.. do a lot of annoying things.. it’s definitely not insecurity.. I personally believe Americans and Europeans are much smarter than Indians .. if you believe otherwise, go to India and find out .. lol..” “Countries that you cannot ignore how much you try China India Iran. These are centuries old man. There are forces beyond your imagination. People from these nations have migrated elsewhere to give birth to other nations,” noted another.
