Giving a major fillip to infrastructural development, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 53 diverse projects worth about Rs 2,448 crore in Daman & Diu Silvassa city.
The Union Home Minister dedicated 10 projects each in Daman and Diu, and 33 projects in Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Collectively, these projects have an estimated budget of Rs 2,447 crore. Individually, Dadra and Nagar Haveli project cost is Rs 1916 while the Daman and Diu project cost is Rs 340 crore & Rs 191 crore respectively.
“PM Modi has set a target of USD 2 trillion export by 2030, Indian space centre by 2035, hosting Olympics in 2036 and sending an Indian to the moon. In 2047 we will become a totally developed and self-reliant India. It will be a vishwaguru,” Shah said.
Eye on all-round development
The Union Minister emphasised the extensive list of development projects initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the last decade. The event was joined by several dignitaries, including the Administrator of Daman and Diu Praful Patel, and the Union Home Secretary.
Home Minister Amit Shah today demonstrated the commitment of the central government towards the all-round development of Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman Diu covering sectors including infrastructure, health, and education, Praful Patel mentioned in a roughly translated tweet on X.
These projects will play an important role in the all-round development of the Union Territory in the times to come, he added.
Parliamentary consultative committee
Later in the day, Amit Shah chaired a meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs at Daman, discussing issues related to the development of Jammu and Kashmir and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
The meeting focused on implementing laws in J&K along with upliftment of economically backward classes in jobs and educational institutions.
Along with this, the meeting underscored substantial progress seen in the last few years, in the fields of power generation, transmission and distribution sectors, irrigation schemes, agriculture, industry, health, education, road-rail-air transport, tourism, and employment in Jammu and Kashmir.
