Larsen & Toubro’s Transportation Infrastructure business has won a ‘significant’ order worth between Rs 1,000 crore to 2,500 crore for the Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road project.
The company said in its BSE release that the project is part of Phase-2 of the Greenfield Radial Road development in Telangana.
The project involves the construction of a 22.3 km long, 3+3 lane access-controlled radial road in Ranga Reddy district. This road will play a key role in improving regional connectivity around Hyderabad.
L&T to build 3.6 km viaduct
As part of the contract, L&T will construct a 3.6 km long viaduct along with minor bridges, underpasses and culverts. The scope also includes construction of service roads on both sides of the main carriageway.
In addition, the company will execute extensive retention structures, a storm water drainage system, footpaths, cycle tracks and landscaping works, strengthening overall road infrastructure and safety.
First radial road linking ORR and upcoming RRR
This project is the first among several planned radial roads that will connect Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road with the upcoming Regional Ring Road. Once completed, it is expected to significantly improve access to key growth centres.
“It will improve regional connectivity and support growth, providing better access to IT hubs, Electronic City, the Young India Skills University and the Bharat Future City,” the company said in the release.
L&T wins third consecutive order for Mumbai Metro Line 4, 4A corridor
Previously on December 24, the company’s Transportation Infrastructure business has won a significant order for the Mumbai Metro Railway Project, with Package CA-298 awarded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority. The project is for the electrification of the 24.72 km Line 4 corridor between Bhakti Park (Wadala) and Cadbury Junction, which includes 22 elevated stations.
The scope of work covers the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of power supply and traction systems, along with SCADA systems for the entire Line 4 and 4A network, spanning 32 stations, depots and receiving substations, in addition to electrical and mechanical works, lifts, escalators and five years of comprehensive maintenance, all to be executed by L&T’s in-house teams.
Larsen & Turbo’s share price
The share price of Larsen & Toubro opened in the green on Monday and trading flat in intraday trade, up 0.06%. On a year-to-date basis, the stock has gained 10.32% so far this year.
