Almost 65% of Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) employees are going to office three-five days a week, chief executive officer and managing director K Krithivasan said.Krithivasan, who was speaking to Moneycontrol on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, expressed confidence that most employees would return to office in the next few quarters. He said the return-to-office policy has worked well for the IT major.

“Our position on ‘return to office’ is to ensure that associates get the best value and our organisational culture is maintained. These two have been key reasons behind encouraging associates to come back to office. Almost 65% are coming back to office at least for three to five days. We are sending positive incentives for them to come back to office on all five days. I am sure we’ll get there in a couple of quarters,” Krithivasan said.

Milind Lakkad, chief HR officer, TCS, had earlier said the company had hired a large number of employees in the last three years and they want to see them come to office and build a bond with their colleagues. The IT major has also been recognised as the top employer in Europe by Top Employers Institute, a global authority recognising excellence in people practices. It was named the top employer in 12 countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, Sweden, Italy, Finland, Denmark, Norway, France, and Spain.

In FY24, TCS Europe hired over 1,000 associates, boasting a diverse workforce of 142 nationalities. TCS Europe has over 17,000 employees, with more than 5,000 having decade-long tenure.
