Tata Group’s Indian satellite communication services company, Nelco has signed an agreement with Eutelsat to bring OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity services to customers across India. The deal will enable Nelco to provide secure, low-latency connectivity for users on land, at sea, and in the air, with coverage extending across India’s borders, territorial waters, and remote regions.

Nelco plans to roll out these offerings as soon as OneWeb’s LEO network becomes commercially operational in India. The services will cater to a wide range of government and enterprise applications, bolstering digital infrastructure and national security while improving connectivity in underserved areas.

Nelco share price

The share price of Nelco opened 3.62 per cent higher in Tuesday’s trade compared with the previous close. Nelco, part of the Tata Group, is one of India’s leading satellite communication service providers, offering connectivity solutions for enterprise, government, defence, maritime, and aviation sectors.

Eutelsat Group, formed after its merger with OneWeb in 2023, is a global satellite communications leader with a combined fleet of 34 geostationary satellites and over 600 LEO satellites, providing services in video, mobile connectivity, fixed connectivity, and government solutions.
