RailTel Corporation of India has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the State Project Director, Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC), worth Rs 50.62 crore, for the establishment and operationalisation of virtual environments (VEs) in government secondary and senior secondary schools under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.

Railtel to supply equipments to set up digital infrastructure

In its exchange filing, the company said the project must be executed by December 31, 2025. Under the terms of the contract, RailTel will be responsible for the supply of equipment and related services to set up the digital infrastructure.

The company also confirmed that the order does not qualify as a related-party transaction and that neither the promoter group nor group companies have any interest in BEPC, the awarding authority.

Second contract from BEPC within a week

RailTel has received a number of projects from the Bihar Education Project Council in the past few months. Last week, on September 26, the company secured a Rs 970.08 crore order from BEPC to establish turnkey Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs in government secondary and senior secondary schools under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.

RailTel order book at Rs 1,389.24 cr

With the recent order, RailTel’s total order book stands at approximately Rs 1,389.24 crore, of which around Rs 1,137.20 crore worth of orders were awarded by BEPC for various projects this month.
