Maruti Suzuki posted a 7.95 per cent profit growth in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025-26. The automaker reported a consolidated profit of Rs 3,349 crore in Q2 FY26. The company’s consolidated profit in Q2 FY25 was at Rs 3,102.5 crore.
Further, Maruti Suzuki reported a 13 per cent revenue growth in the quarter. The company’s consolidated revenue in Q2 FY26 stood at Rs 42,344.2 crore. In the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, the company’s revenue was Rs 37,449.2 crore.
Maruti Suzuki’s margin suffers in Q2
Maruti Suzuki’s operating EBIT declined 7.4 per cent YoY to Rs 3,394 crore in Q2 FY26. The automaker’s operating EBIT in Q2 FY25 was at Rs 3,665 crore.
Maruti Suzuki stated that several factors, including adverse commodity prices and unfavourable foreign exchange movements, impacted the company’s margin in the quarter. Furthermore, the company noted that higher sales promotions, advertising costs, and limited time for price correction on some models affected the company’s overall margins.
Maruti Suzuki domestic sales fall
Maruti Suzuki said that its domestic sales declined 5.1 per cent YoY to 4,40,387 units in the quarter due to customers deferring buying because of the expectation of GST-led price reduction from 22nd September.
Additionally, the automaker’s exports grew by 42.2 per cent YoY to 1,10,487 units, the highest-ever in any quarter.
Maruti Suzuki’s overall sales volume grew 1.7 per cent to 5,50,874 units in the quarter.
