Hindustan Construction Company, has secured an order worth approximately Rs 901 crore from the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), for the construction of New Tunnel28 on the Tupul- lmphal new Broad Gauge (BG) railway line.
The company in its BSE release said that the project has been awarded to the HCC-VCCL Joint Venture (HCC-VCCL JV), in which HCC holds a 65% stake.
HCC to build 3.5-km railway tunnel
The contract involves the construction of a 3.5-kilometre main tunnel and includes end-to-end design, engineering, and commissioning services. The scope of work covers the design and proof-checking of a Broad-Gauge ballast-less track, along with the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of all systems and structures required for railway operations.
It also includes the design, supply, erection, and commissioning of tunnel ventilation systems, besides complete electro-mechanical works. Additionally, the project entails the construction of approach roads and other ancillary works to ensure seamless integration with the surrounding infrastructure.
“The project is part of India’s ongoing railway expansion and modernisation programme,” the company said in its BSE release.
