Honda Cars daily production up by 22%

Honda Cars reported an overall sales growth of over 13% to 9,861 units in September compared to the same month last year.

Honda, which is the second-largest two-wheeler brand in India, has been blamed for being late to the EV party as other legacy brands entered the market in 2020.

To meet the growing demand for its vehicles like Amaze, City and Elevate, Honda Cars India has increased the daily production by 22% to 660 units from the earlier 540, Kunal Behl, vice president, marketing & sales at Honda Cars India, told Fe.

“In terms of exports, last year we closed at 23,000 units, achieving a growth of approximately 17%. We are very hopeful that we will touch very strong double-digit growth as we end this financial year,” Behl added.

He said that the overall industry during the current fiscal should touch a mark of 4.1 million, which will be about 4-5% growth over last year.

Behl said that semiconductor supply-side issues have been’more or less’ resolved.
