Genesys International, Veritas bag BMC Rs 155 crore deal to create 3D city model and map stack for Mumbai

The project aims to provide an elaborate and comprehensive overview of the city’s landscape to enable precise planning and collaboration among various stakeholders.

Genesys International Corporation, one of the leading homegrown players in mapping technology, along with Veritas, has secured a deal from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) valued at Rs 155 crore.

Under this agreement, Genesys along with its consortium partner Veritas, will provide the development, implementation, and upkeep of a highly accurate 3D city model and map stack for Mumbai and also update the same for 3-years.

The project aims to provide an elaborate and comprehensive overview of the city’s landscape to enable precise planning and collaboration among various stakeholders. Mumbai is set to witness a huge transformation in its infrastructure and advanced planning that a Digital twin map stack provides will go a long way in the city’s governance.

This it says marks a significant validation of the Genesys New India Map stack.

The project entails the creation of a unified mapping platform, incorporating various layers such as the 3D reality mesh model, base map with advanced features and street imaging, Digital Surface Model (DSM), Digital Terrain Model (DTM) along with a change detection map. These tools will empower municipal departments, government agencies, and citizens to make informed decisions that contribute to the city’s growth.

By harnessing geospatial intelligence, Genesys International says the project will improve urban planning, infrastructure development, and emergency response systems in Mumbai. The project aligns with the city’s vision of becoming a ‘smart city’ equipped with advanced technologies for efficient governance and citizen engagement.

Genesys has embarked on a pathbreaking new India map stack which it has also partnered with the Survey of India, India’s premier mapping agency.
