On September 26, 2023, Infosys, a information technology (IT) corporation, entered into a partnership with Microsoft, a multinational technology company. According to an official release, the partnership aims to develop industry-scale solutions around technologies such as Azure Cognitive Services, Infosys Topaz and Azure OpenAI Service.

“I believe the collaboration between Microsoft and Infosys in Generative AI is a development highlighting the technology’s potential. This partnership aims to meld Microsoft’s AI prowess with Infosys’s IT and consulting strengths, paving the way for AI advancements. Furthermore, clients should benefit from AI solutions, ushering in business transformation,” Aditya Joshi, CEO, OpalForce, an AI-based company, told FE TransformX.

It’s believed that both companies intend to develop enterprise solutions through integration of their artificial intelligence (AI) potential, which should benefit different industries. Going by Infosys’ official website, the solutions will grow data democratisation and intelligence that should help businesses enhance productivity, along with generating new revenue streams. From what it’s understood, the association between Infosys and Microsoft is expected to bolster customers’ operational efficiency, decrease turn-around-time, future-proof investments, and create new business models.

“I think this collaboration signals a strategy, with Infosys playing a role in Microsoft’s expansion in the Indian market. As two companies align, we can expect a synergy that will not only benefit the enterprises but also reshape the Indian IT landscape. Infosys’s application of Generative AI, especially in sectors such as financial services, can showcase its potential,” Shivam Arora, Microsoft marketing manager, Compunnel Inc, a software company, highlighted.

According to Balakrishna D R (Bali), executive vice president and global head – AI and automation, application development and maintenance, Infosys, Infosys Topaz is empowering businesses with improved operational efficiencies and reduced time-to-market for launching new products and services. “It converges the power of Infosys Cobalt and data analytics to AI-power business and deliver cognitive solutions and intuitive experiences that revitalise growth. Through our strategic collaboration with Microsoft, we will continue to lead the generative AI revolution, helping businesses amplify human potential and navigate their next towards becoming AI-first enterprises,” Bali added.

Moreover, Infosys’ website also highlighted that Generative AI has created new channels for AI use cases and enterprise needs across industries. The website specified that Infosys is supplying frameworks for various sectors such as document summarisation, contact centre transformation, marketing content creation, AI-augmented software development lifecycle (SDLC), and semantic search. “For example, Infosys helped a leading financial services company implement an AI-based solution to generate document summaries and provide a semantic search capability using generative AI. This resulted in automated organisation of documents, which significantly reduced efforts and improved productivity of their financial advisors,” the website mentioned.
