The US Chamber of Commerce’s US-India Business Council (USIBC) has started a new group called the AI Task Force (AI-TF) to work on artificial intelligence (AI). This group will focus on AI ideas, involve many different people, and push for the development and use of AI technologies. The AI-TF follows the Chamber of Commerce’s AI rules and supports the OECD’s suggestions on AI.

USIBC President Ambassador Atul Keshap said, “Starting the AI-TF under USIBC’s leadership is a big deal. It comes at a time when AI is changing fast. We want to use AI’s big potential to make both the US and Indian economies stronger and improve our societies. We want AI to help us make progress, follow our values and rules, and make money for both our countries.”

The group includes Kamal Ahluwalia, President at Ikigai Labs; Todd Skinner, President of International at TransUnion; and Ed Knight, Chairman of USIBC Board and Executive Vice Chairman of Nasdaq. Knight said, “Creating USIBC’s AI-TF is a big step toward working together on important and innovative technologies. The Task Force will push for using AI in a safe and good way. USIBC wants to keep talking with the US and India to help both countries lead in AI.”

Dr Sethuraman Panchanathan, Director of the US National Science Foundation, said, “Working together will be important for a safe and secure AI future. AI is changing fast, so researchers need to work together and share ideas to make new and good discoveries while following our values.”

Matthew Pine, Xylem president and CEO, said, “Working together is key to solving water problems. That’s why Xylem started the Reservoir Center for Water Solutions with other water leaders. We are happy to have Director Panchanathan and the US-India Business Council help announce the AI Task Force.”
