Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Polish counterpart Donald Tusk on Thursday and discussed ways to boost the relationship between India and Poland. PM Modi arrived in Poland on Wednesday marking the onset of a two-nation tour, which will also include his stay in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
PM Modi’s historic visit to Poland
This visit is considered to be as significant because it would be the first time in 35 years that an Indian Prime Minister has paid a visit to Poland.
On the other hand, External Minister S Jaishankar also informed that he had a meeting with his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski and they both discussed several topics ranging from the Ukraine crisis to the current status of the Indo-Pacific and bilateral cooperation.
A high-level bilateral talk held
PM Modi received a grand ceremonial carpet welcome upon his arrival at the Chancellery in Warsaw. After this, both the leaders engaged in bilateral talks. The prime minister is also scheduled to meet Polish President Andrzej Sebastian Duda during his visit to Poland. The Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal underlined the importance of the meeting. He emphasized that the meeting between the two leaders would provide new zeal to the India-Poland partnership.
