Mistral Solutions, a subsidiary of AXISCADES Technologies Ltd, has achieved a major milestone by securing a significant order from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). This order involves the design, development, and supply of eight Radar Processing Systems for the Arudhra Medium Powered Radar (MPR). The total value of the order is Rs 90 Crore, and the systems will be delivered over four years.

About Arudhra Medium Powered Radar

The Arudhra MPR is a homegrown, rotating active phased array multifunction 4D Radar. It can automatically detect and track various aerial targets, from slow-moving objects to combat aircraft. This achievement is the result of efforts by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) since 2012 to create an indigenous Radar. DRDO subcontracted Mistral for the Design and Development of the RADAR Signal Processing system.

After years of field trials, the Arudhra Radar is now ready for induction into the Indian Armed Forces.

Arun Krishnamurthi, the CEO and MD of AXISCADES Technologies, expressed his excitement about the order, stating, “We are working to actively support indigenous defence projects, and this order is a significant step in our commitment to deliver advanced technological solutions to enhance India’s defence capabilities. Our role as a key player in the Indian defence technology ecosystem shall be further boosted with this project. We remain committed to providing valuable contributions to the nation’s security through our technological innovation and excellence.”

Mujahid Alam, the CEO of Mistral Solutions, also commented, “By utilizing our extensive experience and capabilities in defence technology, we have successfully designed and developed these systems to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. With this milestone, we look forward to contributing to India’s self-reliance and self-sufficiency in complex defence engineering systems by leveraging the expertise of our team.”

What does the order include?

This order includes one of the first liquid-cooled systems designed by Mistral, and in India. Mistral built this robust system from scratch and ensured it could operate in tough environmental conditions. The RADAR Signal Processing system was displayed by DRDO at the Republic Day parade in 2017.
