India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) share a robust and longstanding relationship marked by economic collaboration, cultural exchange, and strategic partnerships. This bond was celebrated and further strengthened at the India-GCC Awards evening hosted by the Indian Economic Trade Organisation (IETO) in New Delhi.

It brought together distinguished guests and dignitaries from India and the GCC countries to honour exceptional contributions to bilateral relations and cooperation. Ambassador of Bahrain to India Abdulrahman Mohamed Ahmed Al Gaoud; Ms Aysha Bahlool, a prominent figure in Bahrain’s culinary scene; and Chief Imam and Peace Ambassador, Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, were among those who were present.

The awards ceremony recognized individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements in various fields, including business, innovation, cultural exchange, and social impact. Notable recipients included industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists who have made significant contributions to strengthening the ties between India and the GCC nations.

Among the awardees were the RAKEZ CEO from Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, recognized for exceptional support to Indian companies, and Aysha Bahlool from Bahrain, honoured for promoting Indian cuisine and culture in the GCC region. Additionally, Aftab Hassan was acknowledged for his excellence in the insurance sector.

Dr Asif Iqbal, President of IETO, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support and collaboration that have fostered strong relations between India and the GCC nations. He emphasized the importance of such platforms in promoting mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and economic growth.

The India-GCC Awards Gala served as a reaffirmation of the deep-rooted friendship and shared values between India and the GCC countries. It underscored the commitment of both sides to furthering cooperation and collaboration across various sectors, paving the way for mutual prosperity and development.

Shiyas Hasan, the Trade Ambassador of the India GCC Council, reflected on the positive trajectory of India-GCC relations. And expressed optimism about the future, highlighting ongoing efforts to enhance trade, investment, and people-to-people ties between the two regions.
