Prime Video’s Panchayat season 3 becomes the most-watched Hindi web series clocking 28.2 million views during January-June 2024 followed by Netflix’s  Heeramandi which recorded 20.3 million views over the same period, reveals a report published by Ormax Media titled ‘Streaming Originals in India, Mid-year Review’. As per the report, a total of five platforms were featured in the top 15 list of most-watched Hindi web series with Disney+ Hotstar leading with five entries. Jamnapaar(Amazon MiniTV)  is the only advertising video-on-demand (AVOD) series on the list.

Reportedly, Jiocinema’s Big Boss OTT S3 topped the chart of most watched Hindi unscripted shows with 17.8 million views followed by The Great Indian Kapil Show and Shark Tank India S3 which got 14.5 million views. It is also mentioned that the top four shows with over 10 million views belonged to different genres which claims to indicate the potential for diversity of formats in non-fiction on OTT. Furthermore, Amar Singh Chamkila took the top spot in the chart of most watched Hindi films. Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan ranked second and third on the list. It is also said that, Netflix has dominated the category with its four films featured on this list.

As per the report, The Boys S4 topped the list of most-watched international shows or films followed by House Of The Dragon S2 and Fallout respectively. It is also mentioned that B&B: Bujji and Bhairava took the top spot in the chart of most watched Telegu shows or films. Furthermore, Inspector Rishi topped the list of most-watched Tamil shows or films.

Moreover, similar to the most-watched Hindi web series chart, Panchayat S3 (Prime Video) topped the chart of most buzzing Hindi shows too. The series enjoyed the maximum buzz,(an indicator of talk value, a score on a 0-100 scale that measures percentage of audience who recalled the show or film unaided) followed by Heeramandi (Netflix). These were the only two shows that managed to cross a peak Buzz of 30% in the first half of the year. It is also mentioned that direct-to-OTT films struggled to stay relevant in 2024, with only three films namely Murder Mubarak, Ae Watan Mere Watan, and Amar Singh Chamkila managing double-digit Buzz. In addition to that, The Boys S4 enjoyed most buzz among international shows or films followed by Fallout and House of the Dragon S2.
