JioStar, a joint venture between Viacom18 and Star India, has launched JioHotstar, combining JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar into one streaming platform. With over 50 crore subscribers, JioHotstar aims to improve India’s entertainment and sports streaming experience.

The platform offers 3 lakh hours of content across 19 languages, including Bollywood films, global franchises, and live sports. By integrating JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar’s libraries, JioHotstar provides a variety of content, such as Hollywood movies, Indian shows, reality programs, and international sports.

By integrating AI-driven recommendations and offering streaming in over 19 languages, we are personalising content like never before,” Kiran Mani, CEO – Digital, JioStar said.

JioHotstar uses AI-driven recommendations to personalise the viewing experience. Basic access is available without a subscription, with premium options starting at Rs. 149, and existing subscribers can transition easily.

The platform focuses on sports, offering live coverage of major events like IPL, ICC tournaments, Premier League, Wimbledon, and local leagues like Pro Kabaddi and ISL. It also features 4K streaming, multi-angle views, and real-time stats.

The platform also introduces ‘Sparks’, a new initiative to feature India’s digital creators, allowing local talent to connect with viewers.
