Cricket fans in India will have an enhanced viewing experience this Indian Premier League (IPL) season, as PVR INOX is set to screen live matches in its cinemas nationwide. Partnering with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the multiplex chain aims to bring the thrill of stadium cricket to the big screen, offering audiences superior visuals, immersive sound, and premium comfort.
A stadium-like atmosphere in theatres
The initiative kicked off on March 22 with the IPL 2025 opening ceremony, followed by live screenings of select weekend matches and playoffs. The move is designed to merge India’s love for cricket with the cinematic experience, giving fans a chance to enjoy high-octane matches with a theatre full of fellow supporters.
“We are thrilled to unite two of India’s biggest passions—cinema and cricket. The overwhelming response to past screenings has reaffirmed the success of this initiative. This year, we are committed to elevating the sports entertainment experience,” Gautam Dutta, CEO – revenue and operations, PVR INOX, commented.
The screenings will take place in major metropolitan hubs such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata, along with Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across states including Punjab, Rajasthan, Kerala, and Gujarat. This extensive coverage ensures that cricket fans nationwide can participate in the unique theatre-viewing experience.
PVR INOX has confirmed that fans can check the screening schedule and book tickets via the company’s website or mobile app for real-time updates on showtimes and locations.
