The Coca-Cola Company has announced the appointment of Hemant Rupani as the new Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCB), effective September 8. Rupani will succeed Juan Pablo Rodriguez, who is set to take up a new role within the Coca-Cola system.
Rupani joins HCCB from Mondelez International, where he currently serves as Business Unit President for Southeast Asia, overseeing operations across Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. He will report to the HCCB Board of Directors.
Rupani began his career in 1997 at ICI India Limited and has held leadership roles across the consumer and technology sectors. He joined PepsiCo India in 1999 and, after a stint at Infosys Technologies, returned to PepsiCo in 2004, eventually becoming Senior Vice President, Customer Marketing for India Beverages. His subsequent roles included leadership positions at Vodafone and Britannia Industries before he joined Mondelez in 2016.
At Mondelez, Rupani served as Director of Sales for India before being appointed Managing Director for Vietnam, and later elevated to his current regional leadership role in 2022. A mechanical engineering graduate from Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, Rupani holds an MBA in marketing from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi.
HCCB, based in Bengaluru, is Coca-Cola’s largest bottling partner in India. In December 2024, The Coca-Cola Company announced that the Jubilant Bhartia Group would acquire a 40% stake in Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Pvt. Ltd., HCCB’s parent company.
