HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company has launched a film spotlighting the critical role of insurance advisors in supporting customers during challenging times. From what is understood, the film features real-life stories shared by advisors from various insurance sectors, including health, motor, and SME insurance. Anchored by Anmol and Amrita Rao, radio jockeys, the film captures candid conversations highlighting how advisors have gone beyond their professional duties to assist customers with advice and support during unforeseen situations, the company stated.

“As a leading general insurer in India and a ‘Customer First’ organisation, we at HDFC ERGO understand the urgent need to address the low insurance penetration in India, where it is as low as 4% with around 70% of people uninsured. However, insurance is often viewed as a push product in India, with the misconception that advisors are only interested in selling policies and then they disappear. But insurance advisors play a vital role in reaching the last mile. This film is a tribute to all the insurance advisors, who have been serving the customers’ needs across the vast and remote geographies. We hope that this film will nudge the customers to acknowledge the positive impact the insurance advisors play in their lives and highlight this profession of insurance advisors in a positive light, also encouraging more and more individuals to join this profession,” Parthanil Ghosh, director and chief business officer, HDFC ERGO General Insurance, said

The initiative aims to challenge stereotypes about insurance advisors, often seen as sales-driven, by showcasing their positive contributions and the impact they have on customers’ lives. Through real-life testimonials, the film underscores the importance and nobility of the profession. It has been shared across digital platforms and distributed within HDFC ERGO’s advisor network to recognise and celebrate the efforts of this often-overlooked community.
