What is the one thing you like to do when not working?

When I’m not busy with work, I relax by experimenting with delicious food in the kitchen. One of my greatest passions lies in the realm of gastronomy, and I love the creativity and artistry that cooking offers, whether it’s exploring unique flavours and ingredients or cooking exquisite dishes. Bengali dishes like Kosha Mangsho, and Muri Ghonto, Maharashtrian delicacies like Mutton Sukha, and Pitla Bhakri, and Thai treats like Pad Thai and Green Curry are some of my favourites.

Apart from cooking, I’m also passionate about performing arts, and I’ve earned certifications from Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares to help me develop these skills.

How do you spend your weekends?

Weekends are always a welcome break, offering me time to explore new food, discover new music, dive into books, and go on long, scenic drives. Whether I’m dining out with live music or spending quiet moments with my book,  I value the variety of experiences weekends bring. It’s these moments that recharge me for the week ahead.

What are your favorite gadgets?

My gadget arsenal comprises essentials that enhance my leisure time. My personal favourite is my Apple TV, a constant companion even on my travels, ensuring I unwind with a show or movie before retiring for the night. Complementing this is my Marshall speaker, which enhances my music experience with its powerful sound and is perfect for unwinding.

Given the option to choose another career, what would it be?

If I could choose a different career path, I’d pursue my passion for cooking by becoming a chef. I previously managed the award winning Bengali restaurant chain, Bhojohri Manna in Mumbai because my heart lies in the culinary arts. To refine my skills further, I also took a course at Le Cordon Bleu London, particularly focusing on mastering the art of baking bread. Although I managed restaurants for seven years, the Covid-19 pandemic forced me to re-evaluate my priorities. This time, instead of running a chain of restaurants, I would focus solely on my culinary passion by establishing a Chef’s Table.

Which is your favorite vacation spot?

Choosing a favourite vacation spot is a lot like sorting through cherished memories. Bangkok’s bustle and delicious food make me want to try new things, while Paris’ passion for art and culinary mastery cast a spell of magic. Each city leaves a lasting impression, making me want to revisit them for their distinct culture and food.

A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching?

I highly recommend “The Blacklist” to anyone looking for entertaining things to do because it has a gripping story, interesting characters, and each episode can usually be seen in isolation without the need to know the entire season’s story. “The Patriot” is a timeless classic in the world of movies. It is Mel Gibson at his best and I have a soft corner for period dramas. Lastly, Seagram’s “Men will be Men” ad campaign is captivating with its funny and relatable situations, sparking real laughter and bonding.
