Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Ramashrya Yadav, founder and CEO, Integrow Asset Management, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
Ans. When I am not immersed in my professional work, I find solace in the world of literature. I have a profound passion for reading books across diverse genres and find great joy in expressing my thoughts by penning down on the paper. Additionally, I love embarking long drives by hitting the open roads, with nothing but the pleasant hymns of the passing scenery. Whether it’s an unplanned road trip or a planned excursion, I always relish the opportunity to explore new destinations.
How do you spend your weekends?
Ans. I am a big admirer of Hindi dubbed South Indian movies on YouTube. There’s a certain charm of these films that captivates me, whether it’s the dynamic storytelling, vibrant cinematography, or the powerful performances by the actors. It’s a genre that allows me to escape into a different world, filled with action, drama and emotion. I enjoy immersing myself into the rich narratives portrayed in these movies, and I find it to be a refreshing break from the rigorous demands of daily life.
What are your favorite gadgets?
Ans. My favorite gadget is my Kindle by my side. While I agree that physical books have a certain charm that’s hard to replace, the convenience and versatility of a Kindle is unmatched as well. With a Kindle, I have access to a variety of books at my fingertips, allowing me to indulge in my love for reading wherever I am. While it may not replace the experience of holding a physical book, the portability of a Kindle makes it an invaluable travel companion that enriches my journey with the joy of reading.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
Ans. If I wouldn’t have been pursuing my current professional path, I often fantasize about being a chef. The culinary arts have always held a special place in my heart, and the idea of creating delicious dishes that fascinate the taste buds and bring people together is incredibly appealing to me. Cooking allows for creativity, imagination and the opportunity to share something special with others. While I ultimately chose a different career path, my passion for cooking still remains a significant part of me.
Which is your favorite vacation spot?
Ans. My favorite vacation spot is Europe, particularly New Forest in the UK. Its enchanting landscapes, rich history and vibrant culture fascinate me. The stunning natural beauty and diverse lifestyle offer an unparalleled charm and beauty. Experiencing ancient woodlands, picturesque villages and breathtaking coastlines fills me with a sense of adventure. Immersing myself in the destination’s rich heritage, delectable cuisines, and interacting with its local population are experiences I eagerly anticipate.
A TV show, movie, and an ad campaign that you highly recommend watching
Ans. I thoroughly enjoy watching the ‘Family Man’ series, which offers a gripping storyline and compelling characters. It’s a series that has kept me hooked from the beginning, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an engaging watch. Another movie that I hold high regard is ‘The Legend of Bagger Vance’, starring Will Smith. Released in the year 2000, this film resonated with me on many levels, thanks to its powerful storytelling and memorable performances. Lastly, I have a soft spot for the Vodafone Ad series featuring Zozo. This series has become a personal favorite of mine, thanks to its heartwarming and often humorous portrayals of everyday situations.
